Château Forge Céleste 2024

The 2024 returns to the original character of Forge Céleste: a wine made without sulfites, exogenous winemaking inputs or oak. Blending Merlot and Cabernet Franc grown on siliceous soils in Saint-Émilion, it reflects our desire to let its origin speak.

With the 2024 vintage, Forge Céleste returns to the intention behind its first wine in 2018. Following the lightly oaked 2019, released as Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, we return to Saint-Émilion with a wine made without oak.

The blend is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The vines have an average age of 45 years and grow on siliceous soils. This origin guides our work and the decisions we make in the cellar.

Our approach to the 2024 is clear: a USDA Organic certified wine made without sulfites or exogenous winemaking inputs. The direct expression we seek depends on careful attention at every stage of its making.

Grazing, hilling and de-hilling around the vines, plant-based compost and consideration of the lunar cycle guide our work in the vineyard.

The 2018 vintage established Forge Céleste in Saint-Émilion. In 2019, we explored a lightly oaked expression in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. No Forge Céleste was produced in 2020, 2021, 2022 or 2023.
